OMAHA, NE – Preston Love, candidate for U.S. Senate in Nebraska, issued the following statement on the conviction of former President Donald Trump in New York:

“After reviewing the results of the case against Mr. Trump, there wasn’t a doubt in my mind about the result. The former President, now a convicted felon, has brought our democracy and justice system to the brink. That’s nothing to celebrate. The fact that my opponent has enabled Trump as he’s pushed democracy and the criminal justice system to the edge is simply unacceptable. Nebraskans deserve a candidate that puts people over politics, and I’m ready to be that leader. ”

Preston Love is challenging Senator Pete Ricketts for the U.S. Senate in November 2024. Love is a community advocate, adjunct professor teaching political science at the University of Nebraska Omaha, and a five-time published author who has worked in communities across Nebraska.
